In the past, I've had people ask me if I knew of any apartments in Hong Kong that would sleep 10 or 11, or some huge number like that.  They also wanted something cheap.  Regretfully, I would always have to explain to these folks, "No way, forget it."  But recently I've stumbled on to a few that offer just this thing, accomodation for many.

Here is a 600 sq. ft. flat that the owner claims can hold 16 people or perhaps even more.  Now trust me, this is going to be crowded and not the safest or most comfortable setup going.  However, if this is what you need, have at it.  His price starts at $88 for 3 people and you keep adding $10 for each additional person.  What a deal for a large group traveling together.  Spend your money on food and shopping instead of hotel rooms!

And if you need a place for only 12 people, check this 1500 sq. ft. Causeway Bay location out.  This one looks very nice and would not be as jammed pack as the other one, yet the price is $290 per night but that is for 12 people.  There is no extra charge after 3 or anything like that.  Now I can tell from the location that this will be a very old and likely run-down building but then again who cares what the outside looks like as long as the apartment is fixed up nice and it appears to be.

Hong Kong Apartment Info needed -
I have clients looking to consider short term rentals for a family of five, can you help point me in the right direction to any properties that you have "stayed in" that are family friendly?

Unfortunately, most people do not bother to leave reviews with me. Also, my family always stay at a relative's apartment these days, so I do not have first-hand knowlege. I think you should be able to trust the apartments I link out to. I no longer link to any apartments on Craig's List. That is where the scams are heavy.

Thanks for that, would be great if there was some way to compile more apartment info from fellow bloggers. Will check your site and feed for updates, cheers.

I read your post, and thought the "Huge Causeway Bay Vacation Rental" sounds good for my HK visit with the family next July. I emailed the owner with no luck in getting a reply so I googled some more vacation rentals and found this listing on craiglist http://hongkong.craiglist.hk/vac/2928849579.html The photos on that list showed the same apartment with much lower price $140 instead of $250up offered on tripadvisor. Do you think this is a fraud? The owner in tripadvisor listing is Peter, but never got a reply. The owner of listing in craiglist mentioned that his name is Randy Koch.

Rex, It is absolutely a SCAM! Please be careful.

If it is too good to be true, it usually is. I have some other tricks of spotting these on Craig's List but I don't want to say too much in public, because then the scammers might change their tactics.

I don't know why some of the owners are so non-responsive on the vacation rental sites. If they have a popular apartment, it could be booked full and they simply don't bother to reply. Did you check the calendar? I really don't know. I hope you find something nice soon. Keep looking, lots of choices out there, although not as many for big groups. - Bill
